A Nice Read

An unfortunate fall into a frozen pond begins this story. Letitia is saved from near drowning by Etienne, a lumberjack who works at her father's lumber company. He is intrigued by her but knows she is the BOSS'S DAUGHTER, unattainable for a poor man such as he. Surprisingly, her father offers him a job as a clerk, because he is good with numbers and is literate. Letitia and Etienne soon develop feelings for each other. They express them under the guise of business letters that Etienne sends back to the office while traveling with Letitia's father on business. I thought the conclusion was a little too pat, but I did enjoy reading this book.

the story kept me intrigued, would liked to have insight on how mother in law developed in new surroundings.
